Critical one-week delay for the Madagascan litchi season

While the crop size should remain similar to 2016/17, the Madagascan litchi season should recover a normal seasonality after three early campaigns due to the lack of fruits maturity (shortage of rainfalls). Hence, the air-freight campaign should only begin in w46 (against w45 in 2016/17). Furthermore, the concern is focused on the sea-freight campaign, the spearhead of Madagascan litchi, for which the one-week delay (first volumes in w50 against w49) involves heavy consequences: losing 10 precious days of sales during the lucrative pre-Christmas season.
