Ageism in consumption has gone out of fashion. The trend for novelty at any price and its corollary, planned obsolescence, have given way to the cult of Musa. The banana, the good old fresh product which has not seen any significant modification for more than half a century, has asserted itself as the absolute star of the fresh section, and more particularly the fruits and vegetables section.
