Imports on an upturn
After a relative calm 2017, compared to the previous year, there was another big rise in mango imports into the European Union in 2018. Volumes were up by 5 300 tonnes, taking European imports to the 400 000 tonnes per year mark. This total was actually beaten if we count shipments from Spain, the only European origin producing this fruit. Alongside this quantitative observation, we can report a fairly similar sales profile to the previous year, in spite of rising volumes.
