A major clementine shortfall

Despite an average harvest overall in the Mediterranean, the EC market supply is set to be fairly below-average in 2021-22, especially for the clementine and lemon. Nonetheless, certain variables in the equation are tough to figure out this season: will the Covid pandemic, extending ever longer, continue to give demand for certain products a little boost? Will the boom in sea-freight prices lead to a higher concentration in the supply to the EC market, to the detriment of long-distance markets? FruiTrop brings you this overview.
