2022-23 looks set to bring a lean supply. Notably, it was the Mediterranean, the production zone which registered the biggest rise last season, which will see the most significant drop in potential. While the panorama seems mainly clear in the upstream segment, we will nonetheless need to monitor the effects of the return of high inflation on purchasing power, and therefore consumption of this highly-priced product in terms of the popular fruits and vegetables. These production falls are temporary, and go against the ongoing strong expansion trend of the worldwide Hass cultivation area.
