2022 wipes out four years of growth

The EU27+UK is the world’s biggest dessert banana import market (6.4 million tonnes), far ahead of the USA + Canada zone (4.6 million tonnes). While the latter import zone consolidated its volumes in 2022 (- 0.5 %), Europe scaled back in a big way: - 296 000 tonnes, a drop of 4.4 %.
