The transition between varieties came very early. Following December’s heavy rains, the Naveline campaign was truncated (sorting rejects, part directed to the industrial sector). The last batches enjoyed stable prices, though lower than last year because of quality concerns. Hence, Navelate made rapid early progress. With better quality and a good sizing profile, this variety obtained similar prices to last year, and higher than for the last Naveline. Regarding juice oranges, Salustiana prices were the same as in 2016. A dip in rates was observed in late February because of the already advanced maturity of the fruits. The Tunisian Maltaise campaign continued to progress, though volumes were smaller than last year.
