Peru was set for a big production year, and it did not disappoint! According to professional statistics, avocado exports to the EU-28 reached a level of between 240 000 and 250 000 tonnes across all varieties. This range marks a rise of 30 to 35 % on the previous season, burying the previous record from 2018 of 3 to 8 %. Yet it is another record that will more definitely remain rooted in the memory, for the worst price recorded on the EC market since 2014: 8.80 euros/box according to our barometer, i.e. -20 % below the 2019-20 average.
