Over the 1st half of 2022, the net supply to the US banana market was down by 0.6 %, and by 0.7 % over twelve months. June brought a much more considerable downturn, with a fall of 3.6 %. Guatemala scored big with 10 % growth over the 1st half, approaching the one-million tonnes mark, an unprecedented performance for this period. Conversely, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Mexico were well in the red. We should note that the organic segment really under-performed, with volumes dropping by 2.4 % over the 1st half of 2022.
