Corsican clementine

Unlike other clementine suppliers in the Mediterranean region, and according to the very first professional estimates, Corsica managed to maintain total export volumes of PDO clementines close to the 2021-22 season (+4%) and 14% higher than the four-year average. Nevertheless, the overall quality of the harvest was not as good as in previous seasons due to an abnormally mild winter and heavy rainfall at the end of the season, which led to numerous sorting gaps in packing facilities. Sizing remained average (concentrated around 3 and 4). On the other hand, taking advantage of the marked shortfall in mid-season clementines, both Spanish (Clemenules) and Moroccan (Fine, Bruno), the market context remained very clear. Moreover, the promotion of French production on supermarket shelves contributed to maintaining price levels 6% higher than the last four seasons' averages.
