Wonderful Citrus has bought up three companies (DNE World fruit, DNE International, World Pack) to form Florida’s main citrus marketer and exporter. This acquisition will enable Wonderful Citrus to become the USA’s number one counter-season citrus importer and double its activity in the grapefruit, one of DNE’s big specialities. DNE’s produce will continue to be sold under its own brands. Wonderful Citrus is a subsidiary of Wonderful Company (4 billion USD turnover, 7 800 employees). In particular, it operates the brands Halos (number one in US easy peelers) and Scarletts (grapefruit). This is Wonderful Citrus’ second major takeover in less than twelve months, after acquiring I. Kunik Company and B&S Grupo Exportador S.A. de C.V., specialised in the production and sale of Mexican limes.
