Broaden the field!

Although slumps are very painful they make it necessary to take decisions. The melon market has not escaped this rule as the stagnation of imports to Europe as a result of the economic crisis obliged too Euro-dependent South American operators to revise their export profile and West Indian operators have had to take measures to promote value generated by their production. However, some sources such as Senegal seem to have benefited from the new situation and should deploy in the coming years, possibly at the expense of Morocco, where areas planted with Charentais melons are decreasing.
