Set for the end of the campaign

In a letter sent out to mango industry operators, the Director of the Côte d'Ivoire Plant Protection and Quality Control Service announced that the mango export campaign will officially close on Sunday 26 May. This decision comes after five interceptions have been registered due to the presence of fruit fly larvae in Europe (threshold stipulated by the European Union). This decision brings forward the end of the air-freight mango marketing campaign. The time lag intrinsic in maritime transport means that sea-freight mangos will probably continue to be sold until mid-June.
