Madagascan litchi: first conventional ship departed

The Baltic Klipper, the first conventional ship scheduled for the Madagascan litchi campaign, started loading on the official opening date, 22 November 2022. The operation was completed in the early morning of 25 November, and the ship put to sea with 5 380 pallets of litchis. The fruit was deemed to be of satisfactory quality in terms of size and sugar content. This ship is expected at Port Vendres on 8 December, if sailing conditions prove favourable. The second ship should finish loading on 28 November, and is set to dock at the port of Zeebrugge.
