Peruvian avocado exports to Malaysia will be able to start during this 2024 campaign, subject to compliance with the sanitary protocol defined, and for the approved packhouses. Malaysia is Asia’s fifth biggest market behind Japan, China, South Korea and Singapore. Its imports fluctuated between 3 500 and 4 500 tonnes between 2019 and 2022, without exhibiting a clear growth trend. This market was hitherto supplied mainly by Australia, and to a lesser degree Kenya.
