Overall, the transition to the late hybrids went without a hitch. In Spain, Clemenules quickly gave way to the late varieties (week 2). Hence Clemenvilla asserted itself until Storm Gloria struck (week 4). Thereafter, Nadorcott, Tango, Hernandine and Ortanique shared the market. The other Mediterranean origins were also able to make headway. Hence Moroccan Nour, hard hit by a production shortfall, was quickly replaced by Nadorcott (week 4), three weeks ahead of schedule. Israeli Orri suffered logistical setbacks because of the ports lockdown, limiting incoming volumes onto the EC market. Nonetheless, demand did not flag, and prices remained strong throughout the month.
