In June 2022, supply to the French market remained in positive territory with a gain of 0.7%. While raw supply has increased strongly from Dollar, ACP and other Member States, a strong flow of re-exports (+24%) is limiting the net growth of the French market. The first half of 2022 closed with a gain of 0.9% to 384,000 tonnes. Dollar supply continues to grow (+12%) with no signs of weakness. There is also a strong (+74%) flow of introductions via other Member States (loss of the notion of origin). Direct supply of ACP bananas fell by 8%. The supply of French bananas remains relatively stable. Over a sliding 12-month period, the market grew by 2.7%, in a complete reversal of phase with the situation on the European market. The 730,000 tonne mark was exceeded (+ 19,000 tonnes).
