October brought a nice surprise with a 3.9 % bounce-back in the supply from the same month in 2021. Although it has to be said that October 2021 had the lowest supply since 2016! It was the dollar and African ACP groups which drove the upward trend, while the other ACPs and European production (except for Martinique) were on the opposite track. Over the first ten months of 2022, there was indisputably a “shortfall” of 260 000 tonnes, i.e. a drop from the previous year of 4.7 %. Over twelve months, there was just as significant a drop (-3.6 %).
