As in 2022, the official opening of the Côte d’Ivoire mango export campaign to the European markets has been set for 5 April. The first fruit containers are expected in week 16/17, i.e. in late April. From a moderate start, shipments should quickly step up. As a reminder, out of the country’s total exports of 30 000 tonnes, 80 % of the volumes come during the month of May. Air-freight exports should be available on the European markets from the end of the first third of April. The trading conditions for Ivorian mangos will depend on whether the Peruvian campaign is extended. Exports from both Côte d'Ivoire and its neighbouring countries will be subject this year to particularly close monitoring in Europe, in terms of fruit fly management.
