Côte d'Ivoire Mangoes

The prospects for a mango campaign in Côte d'Ivoire seem to be becoming clearer. The fruits from the first flowering are in the development phase and give reason to hope for an earlier season than in previous years. The local authorities and professionals of the sector should meet within a fortnight to determine the opening date of the 2021 export season. This would not be an imminent start, but a start to the season a week to 10 days earlier than in previous years. Thus the first Ivorian fruits could be marketed in Europe as early as week 16. The start of the campaign would be made with still moderate volumes and mainly composed of small sized fruit. This quicker start would make it possible to smooth out the pivotal period at the end of the Peruvian campaign and the beginning of the West African season.
