With just over 13 000 t of imports in 2018-19, South Korea is the number three Asian market behind Japan (77 000 t) and China (47 000 t). It is also one of the most dynamic, doubling in size every year since 2015-16. Its growth should remain very lively in the coming years, with a fourth supplier country i.e. Peru, having been approved in early October, alongside the USA, Mexico and New Zealand. Peruvian exporters are hoping to be able to ship 10 000 t of Hass there from 2020. Negotiations are also at a very advanced stage with Colombia, which could obtain import authorisation in Q1 2020.
