Difficult logistics in Q4 2020?

The air-freight mango supply could be complex for the final months of 2020. While the first shipments from Brazil provided supplied the European market ahead of schedule with moderate volumes, questions are already being raised over the freight capacities that will be available in the coming weeks. They will be limited in October, a period when the Brazilian supply is on the increase, especially with Air France scaling back from three flights to a weekly rotation. The predictions for early and substantial campaigns from Brazil and also Peru are only heightening the logistical tension for the coming months. On top of this we should add the high freight prices charged (owing to the health crisis), potentially disrupting air-freight mango flows to Europe. Seen from another perspective, the limited import capacities and ongoing high freight prices could represent a regulating factor on volumes, and stabilise sale prices at a high level.
