A leaner 2020 summer supply?
The Senegalese mango export campaign is set to be less dense and shorter this year, whereas in previous years it had been on an upward trend (14 000 tonnes in 2019). This season has been characterised by a smaller harvest, as well as by variable fruit quality. The last substantial shipments should reach the European market in late July. Residual batches from a second flowering may overrun into August. The market could see a shortfall of Kent, given the early halt to shipments from Senegal, and with the Israeli campaign also set to be smaller.
