European mango market

The profile of European mango supplies is changing at the end of April. The end of the Peruvian campaign is in fact being precipitated with a faster drop in deliveries in 2021 than in 2020. West African origins, and more particularly Côte d'Ivoire, are starting their campaign a little earlier than in previous seasons. The transition between these two origins is taking place without any significant quantitative break. The first batches of Côte d'Ivoire mangoes were received in Europe in week 16. The volumes marketed are still moderate but should rapidly develop with the larger harvest of the fruits of a second flowering. This increase in quantity will also be accompanied by a widening of the size range, which has until now been limited to medium sizes (8/9). The transition from Peru to Côte d'Ivoire is taking place without any major hit in terms of volume, due to the parallel increase in deliveries from Brazil over the last few weeks. On the other hand, the supply of Kent mangoes is temporarily depleted while waiting for the cruising speed of West African exports in May.
