There was a big bounce-back in the supply to the USA and Canada in September 2019, with a growth rate of 8.1 %. This fine performance brings an end to a four-month downward cycle. Over nine months, the US market (excluding Canada) tallied up 3 115 000 tonnes, still down on 2018 (- 2.7 %). Ecuador and Costa Rica were down, while Guatemala trod water. Only Honduras, Mexico and Peru were up. We should note Panama’s return to the North American market. The share of organic rallied slightly, though it remained below 10 % at 9.6 %, as opposed to 12.8 % at the same time one year ago. On a twelve-month sliding scale, the net supply to the US was 4 122 000 tonnes, down again by 2.3 %.
