US banana supply in August 2022: a big bounce-back

August was a very positive month for the US banana supply: + 17 000 tonnes (+ 4.7 %) to 367 000 tonnes. We need to go back to 2017 to find such a healthy August. Conversely, the supply remained just as stable since the start of the year (- 0.2 %), as well as over the past twelve months (+ 0.1 %). Since the start of the year, Guatemala and Honduras regained their lost market share. All the other origins were down, with a special mention for Costa Rica, which fell by 24 %! The share of organic has remained below 12 % in 2022.
