Incoming shipments were more moderate, with Ecuador registering average levels, as did Costa Rica and Guatemala. Only Colombia saw a slight rise, with the beginning of its seasonal increase. Furthermore, the overall African supply was also up slightly (3 % above average), while French West Indies shipments were a long way below average (- 20 %) due to the seasonal fall. In the face of this, demand picked up thanks to the implementation of promotions, which helped accelerate ripening centre output. In this lean context Cirad barometer prices saw a distinct increase (+€3.16 on August), reaching 24 % above average.
