The number of trees detected positive for greening, which started to increase in 2015, progressed considerably in 2016 (30 since the outbreak of the disease in 2012, 18 of which for 2016 alone to mid-November). According to the researcher, this indicates a breaker which could hit the region within 3 to 5 years. California has approximately 120 000 ha of citrus plantations, divided between 3 900 producers. The industry employs 22 000 people and generates a turnover of nearly 5 billion, 3.3 of which directly.
