Spanish mango production reached 22 000 tonnes this season, according to the Spanish Association for Tropical Fruits, i.e. a rise of approximately 10 % from 2016. Export volumes are not yet known with precision. Nonetheless, they were probably close to those of 2016, despite a more concentrated Osteen campaign. The association, which estimates surface areas at 3 400 ha, is forecasting production to triple, reaching 60 000 tonnes by four years’ time.
