Satisfactory prices, winding down early

The 2015-16 campaign was deemed “a breath of fresh air” by the head of one of the main citrus producers’ unions.

The approximately 20% fall in production was as forecast, with the early varieties harder hit than the mid-season or late varieties. However, the upstream representatives unanimously recognised the good price level, up considerably from last season and more than the cost prices. The campaigns for all the varieties will finish earlier than last season.
